Windows me help

Hi,
I used Partition magic 8.I combined C:\&D:\.
It worked fine except now I click on
Start-Programs-accessories-Windows Explorer. Hour glass runs-Then
nothing happens. I tried Add&remove windows explorer-then fix.
Then went to windows update.Updated everything under critical updates.
Still when I click on windows explorer.Nothing happens.
I right clicked on windows explorer.
Under target=C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE /e,C:\
Under Start in=empty. General=short cut.
Can you help with this?

The changes you made should not have affected the working of the shortcut.

What happens if instead of using the shortcut to launch Explorer you use
the shortcut Windows Key + E, that is depress the Windows Key and whilst
depressed click the E? Does the system still hang?

Try doing this whilst not connected to the net. It is possible that the
problem you are experiencing is the result of your system hosting an
unwanted "guest" such as a commercial parasite if not a virus. Have you
checked for the presence of such unwelcome visitors?
