For some reason my Win Me doesn't play them anymore. I do have media player
version 7. I mean, it used to play them. Any clues?

Hmmm, that one didn't ring a bell so I checked in my later version (11)
of Windows Media Player.

Open it and click on Options under Tools.....then click on the tab for
File Types. I didn't see .cda until I highlighted "Music CD Playback"
which is unticked on my machine. Give that a try and tick it if needed.

That's because you don't associate .CDA files. In fact if you view their size their
rather small. Yet they represent 16bit WAV files that can be 10's of megabytes in size.

In essence, these are CD Audio tracks. You don't associate them to a media player. You
lauunch a CD Audio player and play the disk.

OK.....but I am still not quite sure what you are saying. If I put a CD
in the computer, I utilize MusicMatch to listen to it. I only use WMP
if someone sends me a joke and it automatically opens in that.

I rarely play CD's on here because all of my music is on the hard drive.
So that is why I was a bit hazy on that.....I guess. Could be *old age*
too, LOL. And don't you dare agree!!!!!!

What I am saying is you don't associate CDA files. You don't double-click on them to
launch an associated utility.

You launch a CD Audio player which looks at the disk, not the files (so to speak).

OK, I think I see what you are saying. Guess I have never received one.
Or if I did, I didn't notice it.

Is it as cold in New Yawk as it is up here?? Minus 20 something with
the windchill, which has been the norm since Xmas. And while Yanks
think we live in the Arctic, our weather quite often is nicer than upper
NY State. The Lake stops a lot of the snow.

Cheers......Heather
