Cloning C: in Win98 ....
I am trying to help a friend upsize her C: drive without reinstalling the O/S
(98SE) or applications. Is there any freeware (or non-crippled trialware) that will accomplish this for us? TIA |

I found it a couple of hours back and followed their instructions. Took a fair while to copy ~6G across. New drive is now percolating like the old system should have - I suspect it was choking on the swap file, as flicking between tabs in FF or hitting a new link could take several MINUTES to stop thrashing the previous drive. She is now one happy camper. Tnx |

This is why XXCOPY has so many switches such as /X that let the user exclude a named file (or files in a list.) Documentation for XXCOPY is extensive because this excellent utility offers so many options. -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |

AFAIK, every TeraByte Unlimited product has a thirty-day free trial. I am
CERTAIN that BootIt NG can be installed and run with no limits for thirty days. Nicely enough, you can do a LOT of things using it's tools, including Image for DOS, for free, with no limits, FOREVER! Does that count as "freeware"? -- Gary S. Terhune MS-MVP Shell/User www.grystmill.com "philo" wrote in message ... "Jeff Richards" wrote in message ... Thanks for reminding us about xxcopy. Regards, Bill Watt Win98 Computer Help & Other Information http://home.ptd.net/~bwatt/ |
