Default Start up problems

Hello;

After installing McAffe Scan, it ask me to reboot the
computer, I did, but it just scan the disk (scandisk)and
never finish, after one day I restart it and I cancel the
scandisk but nothing worked on my desktop no even thw
Star button so, I had to disconnect the power cable and
connect it again, but the same thing. Right now the
sandisk is working with the Start disk, but I'm afraid
it's no gonna work and I'll have more troubles again.
What can I do if its happen again?, because something
similar happend to me before.

Also, how can I delete some programs from memory
because they charge inmediatly when I start the computer,
I see it on the task bar, I tried to delete some of this
programs I don't use from Add/Remove Programs but I don't
see them, please show me how to remove this from memory.

Herbert.

First - try booting to Safe Mode. Does that work OK (if you cancel out the
Scandisk)?
If so, then your PC may already be infected with viruses -
You may have a virus/spyware hijack

download the Stinger from here and run it to make sure that A-V-disabling
viruses are not present on your PC
http://download.nai.com/products/mca...rt/stinger.exe

- update your virus scanner and run a full system scan of all files.

Reboot to Safe Mode and run CWShredder - to remove variants of the
CoolWebSearch hijacker.

Use CWShredder, the removal tool:

http://www.merijn.org/files/CWShredder.exe
http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads...CWShredder.exe

download AdAware from www.lavasoftusa.com, install, update, and run it to
remove spyware, adware,
and other such nasties from your system.
