IE search dialog gives "automation server can't create object" err
Hi Everyone,
Whenever I use the find dialog in IE in a webpage I get the error dialog saying "An error has occurred in this dialog, error: 49 Automation server can't create object". I have IE 6 running under W98 SE. I think it is due to some missing dll file . I did remove some dll files I thought I didn't need as I have a small hard drive. WIll appreciate anyone helping me find which dll file, or what the real cause of the problem is. Thanks in advance. Oniket |

As you have a small hard drive, I expect that it will be a waste of time asking you to check the Recycle Bin. You could try running SFC Before clicking Start to run the Sytem File Checker, which would check for Altered files, click the Settings button. Down at the bottom of the panel, there is an option to also check for Deleted files. Enable it. I would NOT enable the check for Changed files. You (and everybody else) can get into BIG trouble, very very quickly, with that puppy. |

I know I had deleted more than a dozen dll files, but SFC only reported that two dll files were missing (rpcltc3.dll and rpclts3.dll) which I did't delete anyway. Thhe problem didn't go away after the SFC check. Any other suggestion? Thanks Oniket |

Thanks Run MSINFO32, click on Tools and run the Internet Explorer Repair Tool You could also try running DXDIAG and running all the tests to see if anything causes a hiccup there. |
