Whats a max stable number of TCP sockets to allocate and any related registry keys ?
Hi chaps,
Am enthused my win98se setup and router all seem to be working nicely with great thanks to James Egan for his patience with my fuddy duddy diagnosis methods About 2 years ago when I started messing with odd bit torrent clients and possible registry key changes to avoid the dreaded lack of sockets/buffers it was suggested this couldnt exceed an 8 bit value and somewhere around the 200 mark was suggested as a stable max, Given all the time that has elapsed and those that want to keep win98se running a wee bit longer, I wonder if there is any more general experience on the issue and if there is any related registry key/buffer setting etc that might allow stable network operation with more open sockets and what would a revised max number of open sockets be ? -- Regards Mike * GMC VK/VL Commodore FuseRails that wont warp or melt with fuse fail indication and now with auto 10-15 min timer for engine illumination option. * VN, VP, VR Models with relay holder in progress. * Twin Tyres to suit most sedans, trikes and motorcycle sidecars http://niche.iinet.net.au |
