Default upgrade from ME to XP: lost outlook express mail/addresses?

I just recently upgraded from ME to XP pro. after the upgrade i noticed
outlook express was not loading with the previous settings/email/address
book... i found one site that suggested i search my entire computer for .dbx
files and i did. i was unable to find any other than the new onew created by
opening outlook express for the first time under "documents and settings".
please help, i'm desparate. those emails are vital.

the address book is held in .WAB files - not in .DBX files - search for
them, and try Importing them using the function in OE.
