Floppy question
Hello all. I am currently reassembling a pc in which the
floppy drive light has been staying on and saying it has failed. I reversed the ribbon cable and now there is no light on the floppy but it still fails it says floppy error 0*01 something like this. Could it be the power connection? Any help? Thanks |

Thanks Have you tried a new cable? Make sure you are using a good floppy cable, that the pin 1 on the motherboard is connected to pin one on the drive. Also, can you try the drive in another computer, or another floppy on that one? I don't think that a drive without power would light the light; my experience has been that the cable was bad or was not connected right to between the board and drive. |
