Tape Drive error

I finally got win98 installed on my puter. I was given
this old HP Colorado T3000 tape drive, so I decided to
install it in the machine, since there was an open bay
for it. I don't have the software or drivers for it, so I
went to HP website and downloaded it...or I think that's
what it was. The description was: "HP Colorado Backup
Cataloger Module for Windows 95. When I went to open the
folder, this error came up: "A required .dll file,
DBDAO3.DLL, was not found". What does this mean, and what
should I do? Windows doesn't even recognize the drive in
the device manager, and never detected it when I booted.

Sounds like that software is simply for maintaining a catalog of what files
are on the tapes.

You're probably right. The website had no other
downloads for this tape drive. Do you know of any other

Not really. That is pretty (very) old stuff.

Average users moved to CD-RW drives quite a while ago; the drives are really
cheap.

OK, I found out why it won't work. The minimum
requirement is Windows NT. I'm running 98. Oh, well.
