I am not familiar with japanese, but in german it is *dankeschoen*.

Well, and I always thought that was the art of putting letters in
envelopes and the like. Shows how little I know!

Laughing to myself here. Do you mean the "art of making paper
figures"???? That is called "origami".

Ah! - Origami, I knew it had something to do with plane paper. But paper
figures? Rather like 'phone numbers, I thought they were part of the dot.com
boom.
