Networking with WinMe (was: Mise en réseau)
Bonjour monsieur, parles vous l'anglais sil vous plait? I have translated your post with google translate in case someone have any ideas. (better late than never. actually, I can't sleep tonight) Hello, I contact you because I saw that you were specialized in the development networks and the Internet. That is my problem: WinMe on ethernet: I explain. I think you have more chance of help in the WindowsME-newsgroup though, microsoft.public.windowsme.general I am FREE to ADSL (which works very well for me) and I wanted connect a desktop PC with Win ME by ethernet. And so it does not work. Yet I was as marked on connecting you winME to internet with a normal internet cable (cat5 ethernet) should normaly be no problem, it is just a matter of a finding a devicedriver for your network card. What network card do you have? (or if it is not a separate card: what motherboard or computer name?) the various websites that talks about networks. That is why I contact you. As it does not work, I tried to put a WiFi adapter set Hmm, using wifi instead of a normal cable will only make it harder... (and slower) USB. I bought 2 for 1PC bureux WinME and WinXP laptop 1PC. 2 USB adapter works well and communicates with the box. I on the internet 2 PC. In addition, the XP laptop can access the PC but not the WinMe !!!!!!! And not only by the WiFi adapters !!!!! WiFi is connected to a port on WinME USB1 therefore slow as a 56K modem and it does not take advantage of ADSL over WinMe PC. I would advise you to connect your winME computer with a network cable instead. If you can't find any driver for the network card your computer (or builtin network port) you can perhaps buy another network card that have drivers for win98/Me, and remove (or disable) the old network card (or port) I attempt the coup in the ethernet cable to the PC and laptop ethernet mache it well but when I submit the cable on WinMe it does not work. I have therefore concluded that it was my card or operating system that does not support the network. On WinXP you can see in the taskbar when the PC is connected, while in WinMe no warning on the ethernet connection in then Wifi that there is an icon which is the software of the WiFi card. On win xp when WiFi is connected with an Internet browser, it then when you walk off the WiFi the browser takes the baton on the ethernet. On WinME, it does not work. So I tried the ping: PC WinME This key fontionne on WiFi with WinMe 0% loss. Do not work on the ethernet 100% loss limit exceeded. WinXP laptop PC, ping the PC WinME It works on key WiFi PC WinMe 0% loss Do not work on the ethernet 100% loss limit exceeded. Below the config WinMe PC networks Else, I have 2 phones 1 in the other top to bottom, in partial unbundling, I garg these 2 phone connected behind a filter. When I plugged ADSL, these 2 phones are set to come up j'endébrnché one. So that did it before. So I recheté a phone to replace a and now fontionne cala. Whether it goes there on the line? Best regards sorry, I'm not sure what you are saying there |
