Files show in 98SE, but not Xp Home.

4ax.com: I copied files from my old system running 98SE onto a new drive for a system running WinXP Home. Both drives are running FAT32. In XP, only the folder name appears. If I put the drive back intot he 98 machine, the files are there. What gives? It took quite a bit of time to copy those files and I really don't want to have to do it again if not necessary. Maybe the files are hidden for some reason? I don't know where to find the 'show hidden files' switch in XP, but in the command prompt you should see them with 'dir /AH', when in the right directory. If so, you can probably unhide them with 'attrib -H *.*' |

I don't know where to find the 'show hidden files' switch in XP, Same place as for Win 4.10; From an open window: Tools menu: Folder Options item: View tab: Advanced settings listing: Hidden files and folders. In the same place also uncheck "Hide Protected Operating System Files (Recommended)" to see files doubly disquised by having both the hidden & sytem attributes set. but in the command prompt you should see them with 'dir /AH', when in the right directory.
