.avi files with stuttering sound?
I have a problem of the sound stuttering on various .avi files. The .avi files
have mpeg layer 3 sound. Some have ac3 sound.Gspot informs me that quartz.dll is the codec that is playing the sound. Picture is divx/xvid. I have the Xvid and Ac3 codecs installed. System is: * Windows 98SE * AMD XP2400+ (previously XP1800+) * SoundBlaster Live! Value * 512MB DDR I have tried Windows MediaPlayer versions 6.4, 7.1, 9. Sound never used to stutter, but upgraded cpu and reinstalled OS and now these files have sound issues. Any ideas? Thanks, D.R. [x-posted to 3 microsoft newsgroups] |

"Ron Badour" wrote in message ... Try disabling your anti virus program Thanks to all who replied. By installing the very latest version of DIVX, problem got solved. The video codec was causing issues with the audio. Obviously the movie I was playing had been encoded with a later DIVX codec than what I had previously installed. :-) D.R. |
