new photos

can someone help me get my photos open? just received new
photos from a friend by e-mail and when i save them to my
pictures it shows up with the windows icon instead of the
picture it icon. i can't open these oictures and would
really like to print a couple of copies. if anyone can
help, i would appreciate it very much! tommy

When you look at the attachments on the email, what file extension do they
have? Did you save the attachments to your hard drive? What file extension
is listed there? Do you know what kind of picture (i.e., .jpg, .gif) they
are supposed to be?

You have to tell us what file type these pictures are.
(.jpg, .gif, .bmp etc.)
You may care to try this, as it opens many file types:
