Default Win 98 SE Boot Screen

Hi,

I'm Marek (Mark) from Edmonton Alberta, Canada. I'm kinda
customizing my computer with new wallpaper, window colour,
and font colour and etc. Once, I was thiking of changing
boot screen for win 98 se, as the original one is
getting "old" for me. Is their a easy way of changing boot
screen and how? Are there any programs for win 98 to
change boot screen. Thanks for ur help.

Sincerely Yours Truly,

Marek (Mark) Stanicki for Edmonton Alberta, Canada

Hi Mark,

I used this with Win98, SE should be the same.
These Logo screens are simple windows bitmap files (.bmp) with the
following names:
Logo.sys = Start up Screen. This file is in IO.sys but if Windows
sees it in the root it will load it instead.

Logow.sys = Please wait while your computer shuts down. In the
Windows folder.
Logos.sys = It's now safe to turn off your computer.in the Windows
folder.

You can use any graphic file as long as you save it as a 320x400x256
windows bitmap. Then simply replace the above files with the new
ones. Logo.sys goes in the root.

To go with Bills answer, if you google for Windows startup logo tools, you can
find downloads to animate the bitmaps in the same way the Windows startup logo
has the rainbow moving across the bottom, they can make it amusing, or quite
professional in appearance, I use one called Windows-Stripify.exe
