Default "Access is denied"

As a result of a procedural Windows error on my part, when I now try to open
an .ogg file (an audio format) I get the following message. "Access to the
specified device, path or file is denied" (the message is referring to the
file, since it won't open from any location). In addition, when I now try to
check off the option in Media Player Classic to handle this file the box
will not accept the checkmark.

(The error was trying to use the shift, right-click "open with" command from
inside a dialog box in the media player player. Dumb.)

Sorry Alex, I forgot to phrase that in the form of a question. How do I
re-establish access to this file type?

It was not in the visible file types, but I did a registry search for .ogg
and deleted two associated entries, which seems to have fixed things.
