Default Any easy way to create a new folder?

Good evening,

I'm looking for an easy way to create a new folder in the currently
open Windows Explorer window.

The reason why I prefer not to use the "New - Folder" submenu is that
it takes a lot of time to appear.

I would rather set up a hotkey or a new toolbar button to do this, but
I have no idea how. (Well, I know that .LNK files can be assigned a
hotkey, but how would a .LNK file create a new folder in the active
path? It can't even recognize it.)

Thanks

Thanks, I'll use CKFolder.

For others who may want to use CKFolder and wonder how to enable the
folder tree ("double pane" view) by default, here is how:

1. Go to "Start Settings Folder Options..."
2. Select the "File Types" tab.
3. In the list, select "Folder" and click "Edit..."
4. In the list, Select "explore" and click "set Default."
Again, thanks dadiOH

That menu should appear almost instantaneously.

I've had this problem for a long time, even with the previous
installtion of Windows 98. Apparently, the speed of the "New" menu
depends on the number of registered file extensions under
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. More registered extensions means slower "New" menu.

This is further explained in the following thread:

Slow 'new' option in Context Menu

Perhaps you have a different issue that needs addressing.
Any other menus slow or any problems
navigating through different windows, folders, and so on?

Nothing I can recall at the moment.

Thanks for your reply.
