Poledit question
Our Sales team still use Windows98 on their laptops which i am trying to lock
down. I want to be able to lock down these laptops so that they can't acces the control Panel etc. I am trying to use Poledit but i can't seem to figure out how. I insert the Windows98 CD Rom then go into the Directory with Poledit. I can get Poledit run from the CD Rom. I can then create a new user, new PC, New Grp etc.. but can't seem to figure out how to attach the policy of check boxes which has lockdown desktop, Control Panel etc. to a user or Grp. I also can't figure out how to place a usr in a Grp. When users login they are still able to access everything including the Control Panel etc. The users login is set to Client for Microsoft Networking and they login to a Domain. When they aren't connected to the Domain an error message saying that they may not be able to access all networking compnents is generated. Question 1 - Do i need to change any networking attributes in order to get Poledit to work? Question 2 - How do i assign my policies to users? Question 3 - Does Poledit only work in a network or Standlone environment? Any advice greatly appreciated. Cheers John |
