Default Shut down problem after using AOL9.0: get Rundll32 error message

After using AOL9.0, and especially when I send an e-mail,
I often can't fully shut down my computer (Windows ME).
The screen sticks at the 'blue screen' stage. On typing
crtl-alt-delete an error message comes
up,i.e. "Rundll32". I still can't shut down properly and
have to reboot to get back to normal operation.
