i have win 98 and am wondering can i use the latest
version of outlook express or do i have to have win xp?

the version of outlook i have does not let me know
automatically that i have a new message. i have to select
the option send/recv to get any new messages.

hi,

Well depending on the version you have at the moment it
MIGHT be possible to have it automatically done. Have you
taken a look in the settings on your version?

You should be able to have it check for new messages, under
ToolsOptionsGeneral (tab) Send/Receive Messages. If that
still doesn't work. You should be able to download IE/OE 6
from Microsoft. If not, get thee to a computer
store/Wal-Mart/Office Depot and buy either:

Money 2004
Microsoft Works 7.0 (not the Suite, unless you wnt to)

I have both and just checked, they both have IE6.
