Default help restoring

ok I can not get my computer to open windows. i delted my
vmm32 files and need to know exactly how to restore them
using dos. ive read the recycle bin info but im not sure
how it works to rename them back into the windows system
files. also i cannot get from the safe mode my computer to
run on the windows start up disk or my cd rom isnt being
detected to replace windows

Assuming you only have one drive/partition (Note the space
between the prompt's right angle bracket "" is for
readablity). Each line is a new command, I'm including the
prompts as a walk through:

C:\Some\Path CD C:\
C:\ MD Restored
C:\ CD Recycled
C:\Recycled DIR *.vxd

(Note what the name of the file is: DE001.vxd or whatever,
write it down)

C:\Recycled COPY DE001.vxd C:\Restored
C:\Recycled CD C:\Restored
C:\Restored REN DE001.vxd vmm32.vxd
C:\Restored COPY vmm32.vxd C:\Windows\System
