GDI+ & .NET Win98
Hi,
I am currently helping to install some software from a group called Economatics. The software keeps having errors saying that "this is only valid in Win32 mode" or "unhandled exception error" or something about GDI+. The company are aware of the issue which only occurs on windows 98. It is supposed to be related to GDI+ and the screen re-draw routine. I have attached a few messages below. Does anyone know a way to get around this or a fix that I may not have downloaded. I am running .NET 1.1 SP1 on all of the machines which is required for the software to run. Message1: The problem is concerned with the screen re-draw routine used by Control Station/Logicator. The routine used by the software uses the new GDI+ (standard in the .NET framework) and this works nicely on NT based operating systems. Microsoft do not appear to have corrected the bug in their service pack 1.1 (from what you are saying) for Windows 98 clients. The problem appears to be worse on relatively quick Windows 98 machines - I think the faster the processor is, the quicker the problem occurs. It also does not appear to happen on all Win98 machines. Would disabling hardware acceleration work? -- Thanks, Andrew Bonney (abweb) www.andrewbonney.com Tel: 01943 872966 Fax: 08701 309329 abweb is a registered Microsoft partner This e-mail was scanned with Norton AntiVirus 2004 software for viruses and worms prior to the message being sent.
