i want to wipe the whole system and start afresh, i have read the manual that
came with the computer and it explains that all i have to do is use the
restore pack that cme with the computer. i have the restore pack it contains
1 cd and 1 floppy disk. from what i understand (by way of articles i have
been reading) the floppy is the boot disk and the cd contains all the files
that will be put back onto the computer. i will try your link in the
meantime, thankyou

Ah - you may be out of luck, unless you can get your floppy to work, or can
replace it (standard units, cost about £5)
There is almost no way that you can install a Win9x Operating system without
a floppy disk boot somewhere along the way - unl;ess you are lucky enough to
have one of the relatively few where the OEM created a bootable CD for the
purpose (and to judge from your description, yours isn't one of them).

You will need to read the manual for your PC carefully so that you know
exactly what you are doing - if you post the details of the make/model
number, then there's a good chance that someone can talk you through the
exact procedure for your case.
