Hey guys.....I have been telling this Irishman to post in the MS WinME
General news group and he told me he had, but I never saw it.

HOWEVER....if I access this very same group via my ISP, then all of his
posts show up.....I am truly baffled!!

Anyway, he has been posting on the antivirus-group due to thinking it
was Norton (a logical assumption).....but could you guys help him out??

Cheers.....Figgs

And any reason you can think of as to why his posts appear on one but
not the other?? Maybe I should stick to my ISP for MS news groups. (G)

Hi there all you WinME persons

Well.... it's three questions really (but they are all related to the
same
thing)

I'm playing with a very sick ME machine. I run 98SE on my own machine so
I'm not familiar with ME. I guess you'll either know the answer to this
or you won't.

When SYSINIT is invoked what does it do just before picking up the
Windows Shutdown flag?
Where has WinME recorded the Windows Shutdown flag?
What does SYSINIT do just after it decides whether to run Scandisk or
not?

Told you so. You'll either know it or you won't. If you have to ask me
what
the question means, I assure you that you will not be able to help.
Here's hoping that someone here will know (it'll save me a lot of graft)

Clarence (Lancy) Howard

Heather the Microsoft interface between the web based NGs and the "proper"
nntp newsgroups is fubarred yet again. Few if any posts made using the
web interface are making their way through to the nntp newsgroups and I
suspect few nntp posts are making their way to the farm used by the web
interface. It might also be the case that no posts made to one of the
hundreds of Usenet nntp servers are also failing to arrive. Since I for
one have no wish to use the dire web interface I'll be leaving it for
those who do to answer any posts that get posted there.

OK......I think maybe I understand. I crosschecked and I have most of
the same posts in each group, but for some reason, Clarence's are not
coming thru on the MS ones. I just checked his headers and he appears
to be using NTL over there. Not the nasty MS one, grin. So I did
offer to repost it thinking it was not making it at all.

Your explanatory post made it thru to both groups. I will keep both up
and running to see if there is any difference in the number of posts.

Cheers....Heather

Heather,

Virtually no posts are arriving in any of the MS nntp newsgroups from the
web interface and haven't since some time on Friday. I have no idea as to
whether posts made from web interface are arriving at third party Usenet
news servers such as those of NTL that carry the microsoft.public.*
hierarchy. Nor do I know if posts made to Microsoft or third party nntp
servers are making it to the web interface.

Cheers,

lol The servers are having another one of their off days Heather, at
least it means I only got under 200 posts from XP General today instead of
the normal 600 or so g I haven't even got posts from ng's that always
have them g
