Super VGA display keeps changing size
When booting up, the Win 98 splash screen and the MS-DOS to that the
graphics stretch across the screen and are squeezed and narrow at both ends. This also the case in safe mode. But there are times when during boot up, the graphics are in the right proportions, but this is hit and miss. I've tried reinstalling the super vga driver and making monitor display adjustments but this hasn't helped. I've asked this question before with no replies. Please help. -- a( : [|]=( DaffyDŽ |

Check with the manufacturer of the display card for an updated video driver.
Did this always happen with this card? If not, when did it change? What changed on your system just before this time - hardware or software added or removed? Does this happen when the system is cold (been off for a period of time), or warm (been running for a long time). Your graphics card could be failing. Random behavior like you describe is often a sign of hardware failure, poor connection, etc. so make sure that the card is firmly seated if it is not a component of the motherboard. Super VGA display keeps changing size
thank you for the response, pattyl. i know all the basic troubleshooting
steps and have done them. i was surprised that reinstalling the super vga driver didn't fix the problem. i think at this point, since this has been going on for years, that i just have to live with it until we buy a new computer.
