How are you "removing" stuff and how much space do you actually have left?

You may have to start removing some little-used programs, or delete some
emails, etc. If you have a CD Burner, you can copy your documents, photos,
MP3s etc.

How large is your hard drive?

Also, can you please not type in all caps? It's considered as "shouting" in
emails.

Thanks!

Have you actually emptied the recycle bin?
Also check your system restore folder as in rare
circumstance in can run wild. You may need to restrict the
amount of disk space it is taking up.

You may have a runaway System Restore - check out this
open Windows Explorer - check in Folder Properties that you are able to
view Hidden and System files (two settings), then Search on your PC for
files named '_RESTORE' (without the quotes) - you should find the
C:\_RESTORE folder - r-click on it, and select Properties.
How much space is being used? - it *should be* less than 12% of the size of
the C: drive.
If it's more than that, then you'll have to completely remove the folder
from DOS - use the following method, which seems to be the easiest at
present.

Reboot to DOS using your Startup disk enter the following commands at the
A:\ prompt.

ATTRIB -R -H -S C:\_RESTORE
REN C:\_RESTORE OLDREST

remove the floppy, and reboot to normal windows. - your error should be
gone, and you should now have a new, single restore point. Go to Windows
Explorer, and delete the C:\OLDREST folder

then go here for a test to check that System Restore is functioning
properly.

Thanks, Noel. I was not aware of this SR problem on ME; I normally turn SR
off, or set it at minumum disk space.

One reason for the system restore C:\_RESTORE folder bloating is where a user
disables system restore using the GUI but does not then immediately reboot.
In such cases the state manager continues to archive amended files to the
C:\_RESTORE\TEMP folder but stops analysing them, cabbing them and limiting
the size of the archive using FIFO.
