windows detected a registry/configuration error
this is the error message i get when i start my computer
windows detected a registry/configuration error i can't start it in safe mode or normal mode. how do i fix this without loosing stuff i have on my computer?

If you don't have one (and if the machine you're currently using isn't WinME), you can download a program to make one from www.bootdisk.com (choose the WinME OEM) make it on the computer you're using to post these messages then run it on your machine. SCANREG/FIX fixes the registry, it's not going to change or set free any of your files.
