Two Questions
1. Scandisk halts on a file with a name that's too long.
How do I find this file? 2. (Non-Win98 related) I wound up with an old 386 with no OS. How in the heck do I get my hands on an old version of MS-DOS with Windows 3.11????? Thanks very much for any help you can give. T. |

Thanks for responding. I'll try eBay. Are you offering to
sell me your copies? T. -----Original Message----- 1. Start Find Files and Folders 2. I have a copy of DOS and 3.11 ;o) -- Regards Steven Burn Ur I.T. Mate Group www.it-mate.co.uk Keeping it FREE! Thanks but I think I started in Windows and then went to
DOS in desperation when I got no results the other ways (simple, advanced, auto fix, etc.). I'll try my hard drive clean-up utility and see if that turns up the file. (Although I think I've already tried this too.) Thanks anyway. Feel free to let me know if you think of anything else. Delete the files in C:\windows\temp, C:\Temp, C:\tmp and C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files. It could also be a folder, look under Program Files. You may see a temporary file name that is huge. Regards, Bill Watt Computer Help and Information http://home.epix.net/~bwatt/ |
