Default Adobe Reader Version

There has been some kerfuffle about pdf files and java and attacks of
one's HDD.

I looked and quickly learned that the most recent Win98 compatible
version of Acrobat Reader is the 6.0.x version.

Adobe's website suggests that 6.0.2 is the most recent available
version:

Update advisory:

Adobe Systems Incorporated encourages you to update to the latest
release of Adobe Reader, version 6.0.2.

How to update to Adobe Reader 6.0.2

Once you have successfully installed Adobe Reader 6.0.1 you may install
the new 6.0.2 update. From within Adobe Reader 6.0.1, go to the Help
menu, choose Updates, and follow the instructions.

When I open Adobe Reader and invoke Help/About I find that I have
installed

Adobe Reader 6.0.5 (3/1/06)

Does 6.0.2 supersede 6.0.5?

Thanks,

baumgrenze

No, the 6.0.5 is installed via updates to the original 6.0.2. Likely you had
auto updates made, or you installed the update sometime.
