Default Kernel32.dll problem

Dear All

My computer is getting worse in terms of breaking down or
freezing up. The latest problem I have encounteerd is a
message 'Navw32 has caused an error in Kernel32.dll'. I
regularly run up-dated Norton Antivirus and Ad-Aware (anti-
spyware device) but I still have these problems.

Any ideas welcome.

Uninstalling NAV and getting a decent AV would be a good start towards a
stable system!

Dear Noel

Thanks for the advice but what is NAV and what would you
see as a 'decent AV'?

Also, it now only starts up in Safe Mode and shows the
error message 'Sistray has caused an error in
Kernel32.dll. Sistray will now close'. Can you make any
sense of that?

Sistray - or SYSTRAY??? - the difference is critical!!
the first is probably malware - the second is part of the operating system

NAV is Norton Anti-Virus.
Decent AV? - anything (almost) except Norton or McAfee - I use AVG
(www.grisoft.com - it's free)
