Error 0x80070725

Hi Guys !

I have Window ME on my Laptop. Whenever I install any
software which uses install shield, it gives error
0x80070725, incompatible version of RPC Stub and setup is
incomplete.

As per microsoft website, in order to resolve this
issue suggestion is to upgrade Microsoft Office 2000 SR 1
to 1a but 1a is already running on my computer.

Can any one suggest what is wrong and how to resolve
this. Thanks for your cooperation.

What are the versions of the four files Asycfilt.dll, Oleaut32.dll &
Stdole2.tlb (in Win Me all should be v2.40.4515) & Olepro32.dll (which should
be 5.0.4515)? These four files should all be located in the windows\system
folder. To determine their version, locate using Explorer, highlight the
file, right click, then click Properties and open the Version tab.

When did this problem start? What changes did you make to your system at that
time such as software install or upgrade? Have you tried using system restore
to roll your system back to before this problem began, provided, of course,
that that was not more than a few days ago.
