Default Digital Camera Problems

I have a Toshiba PDR M25 that was a gift from my brother
(his castoff!). The manual says that Windows ME does NOT
need a driver installed. When I first hooked up the USB
cable the computer gave me a message that new hardware had
been detected, etc. and looked like it was uploading from
the camera or opening the appropriate driver. Then the
message box went away, I had no hourglass, all I had was
my desktop - virtually unchanged. I left the camera
hooked up for 15 minutes and still nothing happened.
What's the problem??? Can anyone help???

With the camera attached, try opening My Computer, and see
if the camera shows as a new, removable disk.
If it is there, you can browse into it to copy / move your
photo from your camera to your hard disk.
When you plug the camera in, there should a new icon
indicating a removable disk appearing in the system tray.
BEFORE you remove the camea, click on that icon, and you
should get a menu to allow you to "stop" the USB camera.
Stop the camera, and you will get a message when it is
safe to disconnect the camera.

Good Luck
