Default Printing over VPN

Hello,

I was hoping someone could help me. I have a Win98 computer that needs to
print to a printer attached to a Win XP machine over a VPN. The VPN is set
up between two DSL modems. I was able to install the printer, but when I
print to it I get an error & the printer goes offline. I am not able to
browse the workgroup over the VPN either. I set up the printer using the IP
address of the XP box & the printer name.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Mike

Thanks for the reply, but that really doesn't help me. I can't browse for
the printer because for some reason I can't see workgroup computers over the
vpn.

can you browse workgroup when you are physically at the remote machine ? if
not , then I would look at that problem first..

check your VPN settings ...you should be able to ..

check for 'allow Local LAN Access' feature.....then file and print sharing
should be available (as well as browsing)

Cheers!
