Default Control Panel

When I open my control panel it says there are 37 items, but no icons on
display. All thats there is a blank screen. Where have they gone or how do
I get them back???

Any help appreciated,
Donal

Donal,

My reply remains the same as when you last asked this question some hours
ago in the windowsme.software newsgroup. For your convenience I have
copied it below.

What changes did you make to your system around the time this problem
started? Have you been using a registry cleaner of some sort? If so it is
possible that you have removed some of the registry entries required to
access both system restore and the control panel alternatively the file
jscript.dll may be damaged or missing.

For more information see the MS Knowledge Base article 309663 - "Control
Panel, Help, and System Restore Are Empty or Partially Empty"
(http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=309663) which might help in fixing
this problem. If not please post details of what you changes you made.

If the problem is a week old at best you could try using system restore to
roll your system back to a check point created before this problem
started.

Donal,

I'm glad to read that you not only found my reply but that you managed to
fix the problem.

Regards from London (how I wish I was in SW Ireland at the moment) g
