Default Adding Excel to Windows 98

I have an early version of Windows 98 and would like to
add Excel capabilities to it. My system is 400 mhz laptop,
Pentium II with a 6.4 gig hard drives. Any ideas of how to
accomplish this without upgrading to XP or similar?

Excel has nothing to do with Windows.
[You can run Excel on a Mac].

Excel is available in the retail market as a separate application
and also as a part of Microsoft Office.

You cannot download it from the MS website.
You must purchase it.

If you just want to read Excel files, you can obtain a free reader
from the Microsoft office web site

In addition to what Hugh says, you should know that Office 2003 products,
including Excel 2003) will not run on Windows 9x. You will want to find an
earlier version.

I have Office 97 and Excel 97 works on all versions of Windows from
Win98 (first Edition) to and including WinXP Home.
