Try downloading this Registry fix. It can be found at:
http://home.satx.rr.com/badour/html/reg_files.html

Scroll down the page until you find "Repair .EXE Association", and click on
that.
Would you post back, and let us know if it worked for you?

I tryed what you had said and unfournately I do not have a
program to extract zip files. I am beginning to think it
is a file transfer error. Although files seem to download
properly.

We're not done yet. Go to www.winzip.com , and download WinZip. It's free
for 30 days, and will un-zip the file I mentioned. Post back OK?

but thats exactly the problem I can't download any exe. I
tryed downloading winzip but it said the file was either
corrupt or there is a file transfer error. Like always. I
believe I might have to reinstall my whole computer.

Well, if it looks like you will have to reinstall/reformat your OS, then it
prolly wouldn't hurt to do SFC: Start Run (type) SFC (enter). Since we
don't have enough info as to any particular file, though I suspect
explorer.exe, you may want to scan for all.

But before you do that try to do a process of elimination as to why you
cannot open such, namely the date when you first noticed it. Did you
recently install an application? Visit a website? Can you run your
anti-virus? Do you have zone alarm? Does it quarantine EXE files with a
different extension?

Try this old response of mine:

You may not like this answer from the Winzip FAQ but it seems to be
the most common cause....

Why am I suddenly getting "header corrupt" messages when I run
self-extractors?

It actually sounds like I have this virus since
some .exe's work especially that are dos related. I'll see
what anti-virus program I can come up with. Thanks
everyone.

You are probably being replied to with links when you say that you can't
download stuff. But we are in a conundrum, for you obviously can connect
to the web, hence we wouldn't be getting these messages so why not bring a
whole stack of floppies or a USB memory stick and using the comp wherein
you are posting and get the needed files that way.
