Default View List, how do I keep it from changing

Running on Windows98 second edition. For some reason, when I use
explorer my files are continuing to be displayed as large icons. How
can I make all my files appear as "list" or "details". What is the
switch that is making the large icons appear. How do I change this?

Open Explorer, click View, List. Now click Tools, Folder Options and click
the View tab. Now click the "Like Current Folder" button at the top.

Tom:

I had a similar problem once with Explorer's view always reverting to
some state other than the one I set it to. Turned out to be some sort of
corruption of TweakUI. an Uninstall / Reinstal fixed it. Might be worth
a try.

If you are really set in wanting detail view you could use Find
Files for folder.htt and delete them all. This will prevent
the Web Page view from stealing your settings for the most
part.

View settings are remembered in the registry and often go by the
last closing of the last instance of either Windows Explorer or
Internet Explorer. These 'last view' settings are committed
especially well when you close the last instance of either
Explorer with the Ctrl key pressed down while using the X in
the upper right corner to close the Window. UNLESS you have
folder.htt around somewhere that is, in which case you'll get
Web Page view when ever Windows feels like it.
