Windows 98 SE Network Adapter Identifying...

I have an OLD computer that just won't handle the bloat in some of the up to date op sys. So I have Windows 98SE on it. It flies and the op sys takes very little memory. But while a previously installed version of XP Pro SP2 installed and identified the network adapter in it (and I forgot to write it down) Windows 98SE hasn't. How can I identify the correct adapter and install it. When I installed Windows 98SE it didn't correctly identify the network adapter and there is a yellow explamation mark beside the name. Everest can tell you. http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=everesthome |

You need to identify the Unknown Device in Device manager, and then search for,
downlaod and install the driver. There are free tools to help you identify it: Unknown Devices 1.2, available here free: http://www.halfdone.org/ukd/ and http://www.speakeasy.org/~halfdone/ and http://www.majorgeeks.com/Unknown_Devices_d3908.html Unknown Device Identifier - Freeware http://www.zhangduo.com/unknowndeviceidentifier.html EVEREST Free Edition 2.20 http://www.majorgeeks.com/EVEREST_Fr...ion_d4181.html -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ http://dts-l.org/ http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "UmmaGumma" wrote in message ...
