Shared Folders
This question involves a Windows 98 computer being able to see a shared
folder on a Windows 2000 computer, so I may be posting in the wrong newsgroup. The Win2K machine has a shared folder called c:\installs. When I browse the peer to peer network from the Windows 98 machine, the shares showing up on the Win2K machine are C:\ and C:\Installs. I shared a second folder on the Win2K machine called c:\Maintenance. It does not show up in Network Neighborhood beside c:\Installs, as I would think that it would. Does Windows 98 make up its own mind what it wants to see? Both machines have been rebooted, and more than 15 minutes have passed so that Windows 98 can do its own discovery. |

Make the share name shorter, use MAINT as the share name instead of
MAINTENANCE. I'll bet you can see it then. -- Richard G. Harper [MVP Shell/User] * PLEASE post all messages and replies in the newsgroups * for the benefit of all.
