Is there a way to hide all icons on the desktop?

not easily; things like MyDocuments and MyNetworkNeighbourhood and stuff
like to stick around... TweakUI might be able to do it and I'm pretty
sure Xteq can too (there may still be free versions hanging around on
the net.

Hi Rick.

Im trying to locate a windows option. The reason being is that when you use
other software it doesnt kick in until windows is done loading, even, if you
have it enabled on start up.

So what happens is you get your display showing all the icons until the
program finally loads.

I was able to drag everything but Recycle Bin down to the Quick Launch Bar.
All I had, though, was the minimal My Documents, My Programs, My Network
Places, and My Computer.

Finally, here is a great freeware utility.

Look for Madonote-2004. Awesome!
