invalid page fault winword 2000

Default invalid page fault winword 2000

I am half stumped looking for advice

the cmos batt may be dead
the clock and date will not stay set with system off
I cant imagine how the mobo could of gotten fried

winword caused
invalid page fault
in module winword.exe
at 0187:300b4d5c

hd space ok
hd scan ok
ram ok
resources 80%

deleted temp files
checked for virii

??

A dead battery is just that, it doesn't mean that your mobo is fried.
have you tried replacing the battery?

winword caused

Using Explorer's Search look for all instances of the Word template file
normal.dot and rename them normal.bak and then retry opening Word. If
that solves the problem a new default template file will automatically be
recreated and you can delete the files you renamed.
