Windows Explorer Setup Problem with Win98SE
Many thanks, Glen, but I just reinstalled Win98 before I checked your
message. That cleared up the problem. Thanks for taking the time to help. Claude "glee" wrote in message ... Did the edit I emailed you help with your problem? -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ "Claude Balls" wrote in message news4W9j.9822$c82.2472@trnddc01... Yes, I mistyped it. You can send to me here.... but please remove your hat first... Thanks! Claude "glee" wrote in message ... I didn't receive one.....check that you typed the address correctly. glen dot vee @ gmail dot com -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ AumHa VSOP: http://aumha.net DTS-L.ORG: http://66.39.69.143/ "Claude Balls" wrote in message news:lAM9j.3271$Uq4.3256@trnddc06... Thanks, Glen. I send you an email. "glee" wrote in message ... Reinstall Windows? Why? That will not touch that Registry key, so it will not likely accomplish anything except messing up the rest of your system. You actually should not delete that entire "Main" key....you should only need to delete the ExplorerBar value. If you send me a valid email address, I can send you a .reg file that you can run, which will delete that value without you having to go into the Registry editor at all. Send a valid email address, to glen.vee at gmail dot com -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ AumHa VSOP: http://aumha.net DTS-L.ORG: http://66.39.69.143/ "Claude Balls" wrote in message news:CID9j.9693$c82.8712@trnddc01... Thanks, Glen, but I'm not comfortable messing with the registry. What if I reinstall Windows? "glee" wrote in message ... "All Folders" pane missing or Windows Explorer is blank http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=192315 This behavior may occur if the ExplorerBar value in the following registry key is damaged: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main Delete the key named "Main", and reboot. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Shell/User, A+ "Claude Balls" wrote in message news:COj9j.6738$c82.1508@trnddc01... This is an ongoing problem -- I deleted the original thread thinking it was solved.... Opening Windows Explorer on Win98SE... In the past I see a list of folders on the left panel, and subfolders on the right. My PC burped and now I only have the panel on the right. I have tried View Explorer Bar Folders... This toggles between one and two panels, but the left panel is always blank. Also, under Tools Folder Options, I don't see any applicable controls. I have a feeling this is a minor task, but I can't figure it out. Thanks. Claude PS -- Some fine fellow gave me a suggestion on how to correct this but it didn't work and I didn't keep the thread going. |
