Default Missing Operating System

Good Day everyone-- I am in a situation where i was consistenly getting
memory and error messages using win 98. I have 256 and the only use of the
computer is basic internet usage. To cut to the chase, I was not able to
resolve the issues causing the problem so I wanted to clean everything up,
hence I repartitioned the drive and at the point were I wanted to reboot with
the startup disk to reformat the drive I get an error that the disk is not
bootable, (verified all nessary files were on the disk prior and they are). I
cannot get a C prompt just a message stating that the OS is missing. I would
appreciate any advise on tasks to help me get the computer up and running
again. Thanks.

You need to boot to a floppy. Then format the C drive and start installation
of win98 from the CD.

In order to boot from the floppy you may have to change the boot order in
bios to a:. C:

Make or get another boot floppy

Then boot, format, install OS.

As Jon said, change the boot device order in the BIOS so that the floppy
drive is the first device. For information on installing W98, go to:
