Default rundll32.exe won't work

I have been having a lot of problems w/ ME lately. My
control panel takes a really long time to load and when I
click internet options there is a pop up that says
rundll32.exe is not found and internet options does not
work. I've also had other pop ups lately when I turn my
computer on and off. Cncq file is not responding or
Yi9n7, but only sometimes. And sometimes my computer will
not shut off easily. There is a pop up that say task is
not responding. I click on end task a couple times and
then my computer shuts off. D you know what the problem
could be? Thanks

You may have a virus/spyware hijack

download the Stinger from here and run it to make sure that A-V-disabling
viruses are not present on your PC
http://download.nai.com/products/mca...rt/stinger.exe

- update your virus scanner and run a full system scan of all files.

Reboot to Safe Mode and run CWShredder - to remove variants of the
CoolWebSearch hijacker.

Use CWShredder, the removal tool:

http://www.merijn.org/files/CWShredder.exe
http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads...CWShredder.exe
http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads/CWShredder.zip

download AdAware from www.lavasoftusa.com, install, update, and run it to
remove spyware, adware,
and other such nasties from your system.

After using CWShredder (see Noel's post) you may also need to replace
control.exe and rundll32.exe with new copies.

Control.exe is contained in WIN_16.CAB and Rundll32.exe in WIN_17.CAB of the
Win Me cab set and can be restored using MSConfig | General | Extract File ...
and following the prompts. The "cab" files are in the Win9x folder on the Win
Me CD and/or in a sub-folder of Windows\Options. See MS KB129605 - "HOW TO:
Extract Original Compressed Windows Files"
(http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=129605). Both files belong in your Windows
folder.
