Give this http://www.the-old-sea-dog.net/enditall.html a
try. Looks like one of the few places left that will let
you download free.

The install simply stalls at that starting point and

Otherwise, no prob's.

In another ng there was talk of *enditall*, a

utility to stop all
running
programs at once when needed.
It seems like a *good thing* to have, but there are

problems with the
download and the installation.
I finally managed to get ver.1.0 downloaded, but it

doesn't want to
install
properly. At the point of clickng "next" for

installation it stalls
with
nothing further happening.
Is it the result of the support being withdrawn and

the encouragement
to
"buy" ver.2?
Already tried to repeat the download, but no dice.
What's up?

Harry,

E-mail me if you want me to send you both versions. Then we can guarantee
that they started out uncorrupted.

I've been using first one, then the other, for years. They work (and
install) just fine on 98se, ME and XP (and I'm sure I've used them on 95OS2
and NT4.0, too, without problems).

There are a couple of points to bear in mind. Yes, version 2 is better, much
more flexible...but...once installed, run it, r-click stmgr.exe and select
Protect Program. Or you're going to be wiping out your restore points every
time you use it. Then select msgsrv32.exe and do the same for that too, then
click File | Save Settings.

I have a large collection of PCMag/Ziff Davis progs that were originally
freeware, but then ZD got taken over by the 'Greed is Good' brigade. I'm
happy to give away these progs, if that's supposed to be a problem now, and
if ZD want to take me to court they can go do what pcbutts1 no doubt does to
himself.

Startup Cop's another damn good'un (that Koldbear turned me onto). Sure
beats using msconfig for Startup axis manipulation!

Hello Shane:
Someone mailed me a copy as attachment already and I put it to work right
away. No prob's at all.
Thanks for the pointers, too.
They come in handy before actual use of the progaram.
I am ever so greatful for all the support I've received.
Thanks again, to you and everyone.

One more thing, Shane:
I've already saved the two items you mentioned, but there are four printed

systray.exe.
Should they also be protected?
Not sure,

The bold items cannot be killed. EIA cannot kill itself (suicide?). The
others are "universal" critical system items. Maybe later (paid for)
versions will include kb891711 and others in bold.

May I suggest a browse through the help/understanding eia/protecting progs
screen for a better understanding.

A common mistake that people made when trying to design something completely

Delboy:
Soon after I sent the post, I had a little time to take a closer look and I
discovered that those items have a red lock, meaning they are already
"fully" protected, while quite a few others have a yellow lock and are
protected also.
I am going to read the help file more thoroughly, before using the utility
actively.
Thanks for the heads-up.

Job:
Quite interesting link website that is.
I downloaded from there and wound up with the same problem as before. Have
not the slightest idea, what could be wrong at my end, if anything.
I did get the file in the form of an attachment and it worked beautifully
without a hitch.
Thanks for all the help.
