Default System Freezes Repeatedly.

That specific flaw was fixed some time ago, Dan - in 'Blacklist #6'.
Whether that fix ever made it to the pirated version on www.toniarts.com is
another matter!

Further to Noel's comments, Ben, you should be cautioned that there exists
some sort of flaw in this utility that seems to affect Windows Me only.
You may have to come to Mike or Noel with cap in hand requesting the fix.
Other than that, it's a neat little utility that has served me well over
the years.

Hello Heirloom,

For reasons I cannot know EasyCleaner has begun to work, including some
functions tried. I went into Safe Mode, just out of curiosity, and it
worked
well there too.

But I am pleased to be informed about the means of ascertaining whether
or
not I have a program confict. It had simply not occured to me that other
programs would not be in a position to conflict, presumably unless I
invoked
them at the same time (in Safe Mode)? Am I right in that, Heirloom?

Thanks.

Hello Harry,

My problems occurred before I had actually used the freeware and not
as

a
result of any deletions. I have Googled the problem about it freezing
my
system but can find no reference.

Thanks for your input.

Hello,

Over the past week I have been attempting to use a freeware new to
my
system - "ToniArts Easy Cleaner".

In the beginning the downloaded\installed program would, when

executed,
cause a complete freezing of my system requiring the use of the
improper
shutdown. Using the manual Scan Disk revealed the FSInfo error(s)
in
the
Boot sector.

I have download each of the offered types - the exe file and the
zip.

I
was
able to install with the former and run the program. But at some

point
in
my
exploration of the menu the freeze occurred. I reverted to

downloading
the
zip. Today this allowed me to create a desktop shortcut without
freezing -
but the exploration again had that effect.

I have never had this problem with any other freeware.

Without using this installed freeware my system operates normally
and
without error.

Advice on how I might search out and rectify this incompatibility
appreciated.

Ben.

I appreciated your remarks. It is working now but I don't know how come! I
will play with it until the next freeze and then say farewell.
