Help with an interesting problem
I hope someone can help me..... is it possible to boot to
DOS when starting Windows ME? I have a Trojan horse that was picked up somehow on the computer and the antivirus program cannot delete it because it comes up with the in use by Windows error. It is in the Windows/temp directory. To make it more difficult, the computer does not recognize the A: drive so using the boot disk is out. If I could boot to DOS I hope to delete the actual file causing this. I am used to seeing the boot-to-dos option with other versions of windows but I do not see it when I F8 on starting windows ME, Thanx for any help Nick |

Nick,
is it possible to boot to DOS when starting Windows ME? No, not without a hack. Instead use a boot floppy. Better though, have you tried booting to Safe Mode and deleting the file from there? -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Nick wrote: I hope someone can help me..... is it possible to boot to DOS when starting Windows ME?
