Default Windows 98 input/output process

Hello, I am new here and this is my first thread. I was wondering if anyone can tell me or help find information on the Windows 98 Input/Output process on software and hardware. I need the info to write a research paper.

Windows 98, or Windows 98se? The I/O driver model is one the few major
system changes that occurred between 98 and 98se.
