Default I might have deleted windows!

When upgrading my win98 pc to xp,
it worked first time round.
I then deleted the contents of the c: as xp was on the d:
(same disk).
The problem i have now is that, the "drive is not ready"
error comes up. I insert the win 98 boot disk (as it
tells me to do), and it tells me the HD has no valid
fat32 partition, and need to be.
I have decided to re-format my drive, now fdisk and
format and the others do not work as a "no fixed disks
error appears"
Someone HELP.

Mark,

The first problem was due to the fact that the OS needs to be on the C:
drive to boot.

My suggestion would be to start from scratch. Fdisk the hard drive removing
all partitions initially and then creating an active partition where the OS
will reside - this will be the C: drive. Then boot from the XP CD and
follow the instructions.

If anyone else has a better idea I'm sure it will be posted soon.

Good Luck

Zippy
