It does put a different light into the mix....a black light as it may be. However, not many users realize what most things Norton can do to ME, or even any of the other OS's for that matter, but, especially ME. I thought Noel handled it quite well.....although...I swear I heard that familiar rapid foot tapping in the background... g Jan |

I arst fur dat wun!g
believe me - the variations in the 'English Language' are broader here in the UK than they are in the US, although the actual pronunciation variants may be less extreme. I reckon to be some kinda mid-anglic pratt on a good day, and varying between broad Glaswegian and Oxford when in my cups.... take your pick! -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2005, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "Jan Il" wrote in message ... ..... which makes me a mongrel at best 'k.......are you from Outer....or Inner... ? Though a little blearly-eyed from all of this, I'm almost back in business.
I've got the Me system up now but I'm receiving the following errors: (1) Outlook Express: a. Outlook Express could not be started. The application was unable to open the OE message store. Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. Contact MS Support for further assistance. (0X80040154); b. Outlook Express could not be started because MSDE.DLL could not be initiated. OE may not be installed correctly. (2) Shut Down Problems Still Exist. Monitor shuts down, but system does not. Monitor comes back on within 10 minutes with a striped orange/black screen. You cannot contol-alt-del. I have to turn off the system manually. (3) My Documents: I tried to open a document. error: This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folders Options control panel. (4) Microsoft Word: error: Microsoft Word has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install this application. (5) Microsoft Excel: error: Excel has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install the application. (6) Microsoft Help and Support: error: The application is busy. (7) MS Office XP Setup: I ran setup and checked to install all options. 14GB available. error: Error 1919, Error configuring ODBC data source: MS Access Database, ODBC error 13: Could not load the setup or translator library. Verify that the file MS Access Database exists and that you can access it. Quit installation. Thanks in advance for your recommendations. mph170 |
